Studienschwerpunkt
Study focus urban design and planning
Within the framework of the MSc Architecture and Urban Design, a focus on urban design and planning can be set, which, as a double qualification, can create the study requirements for both the list of architects and the list urban planners. Also, the requirements for admission to the Referendariat Städtebau can be fulfilled with regard to management functions in state and local administrations. Students who like to qualify for the field of urban design and planning—both in professional work in offices and in public administration— can perform the specialisation in urban design and planning by taking appropriate modules. However, the procedure for registration in the list of architects and the list of urban planners is carried out solely by the Chamber of Architects of Niedersachsen or the Chambers of Architects of other federal states. The admission to the Referendariat Städtebau is carried out by the Lower Saxony Ministry for the Environment, Energy, Building and Climate Protection, or by the responsible ministries of other federal states.
